Frequently asked questions
What is the Pomodoro Technique?
It alternates intentional focus with breaks. The common 25-minute cycle is only a starting point; choose durations that suit your work and wellbeing.
Can I change the default 25 minutes?
Yes. Edit focus, short-break, long-break, interval, automation, pause rules, countdown length, or a multi-stage custom sequence.
Is my task data uploaded?
No. Tasks, notes, sessions, statistics, and imported sounds stay in this browser. Nobuf does not require an account or cloud database.
Does the timer survive a refresh or background tab?
Yes while the browser can restore the page. The timer stores an expected end timestamp and recalculates from the current time instead of counting unreliable ticks.
Will it alert me after the browser is closed?
Not reliably. A static web app cannot provide native-alarm guarantees when the browser process is fully terminated. Notification and background behavior also varies by system.
Does it work offline?
After the core assets are cached, the installed or revisited PWA can run its main timer and local data features offline. Browser cache policies still apply.
Does it sync across devices or block distracting apps?
No. Multi-device sync needs a server or manual backup transfer, and a web page cannot block other websites or system applications.
How can I export my focus data?
Download a complete versioned JSON backup, session CSV, task/statistics CSV, completed-session ICS calendar, preset JSON, or privacy-safe Focus Mosaic PNG.
