Frequently asked questions

Where does the citation metadata come from?

DOIs and bibliographic searches are sent directly to Crossref. Publishers and registration agencies deposit the returned metadata.

Can I process several DOIs?

Yes. Paste up to twenty DOI values or doi.org links. Duplicates are removed before the browser retrieves each record in a polite sequential queue.

Are generated citations always complete?

No. Citation quality depends on deposited metadata and schema mapping. Check important references against the publication and your institution's style guide.

Which export formats are supported?

The editor exports formatted plain text, BibTeX, RIS, and the retrieved Crossref JSON suitable for CSL-based workflows.
