Frequently asked questions
Which formats are supported?
MediaInfo recognizes many common containers and elementary streams, including MP4, QuickTime, Matroska, WebM, MPEG audio, FLAC, Ogg and WAV. Exact fields depend on the file.
Is the media uploaded?
No. A same-origin WebAssembly parser requests local file chunks inside this tab; preview uses a temporary local object URL.
Can this remove metadata or transcode video?
No. This release inspects, compares and reports evidence. It does not claim safe metadata rewriting or full media transcoding.
Why might preview be unavailable?
Metadata parsing and browser playback use different codec support. A container can be inspected even when the current browser cannot decode it.
