Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as EPUBCheck?
No. The browser editor performs useful structural, navigation, resource and accessibility checks, then generates an EPUBCheck command for authoritative conformance validation.
Can it open DRM-protected books?
Encrypted or DRM-protected publication resources are reported but deliberately not decrypted or previewed.
Can previewed chapters contact remote servers?
No. Preview markup is sanitized, active elements and external resource attributes are removed, and the iframe has an empty sandbox.
Will metadata edits change book content?
Edits target the OPF metadata document and rebuild the ZIP with the required uncompressed mimetype first. Always validate and test the exported copy in real reading systems.
